Funding rates
What funding is, the table's columns and how the annual rate is worked out.
Perpetual futures never expire, so regular payments between longs and shorts keep their price near spot. That is funding. Funding rates shows the current funding of the 30 most traded coins.
- CoinThe USDT perpetual's ticker. Coins are sorted by 24-hour trading volume on Bybit.
- BybitThe current Bybit funding rate for one period, usually 8 hours. Green is positive, red negative.
- OKXThe rate for the same coin on OKX; a dash if OKX does not list it.
- AnnualizedThe Bybit rate turned into a yearly figure. Handy to compare with staking yields.
- Open interestHow many dollars sit in all open positions on the coin on Bybit.
- 24h volumeThe perpetual's trading turnover on Bybit over the last 24 hours.
How to read the rate
- Positive: longs pay shorts. More traders are buying with leverage; the market leans bullish.
- Negative: shorts pay longs. Most are betting on a fall.
- Very different rates on Bybit and OKX show where the imbalance is stronger.
How the annual rate is calculated
annualized = rate per 8 hours × 3 × 365
Example: 0.0100% per 8 hours gives 0.01% × 3 × 365 ≈ 10.95% a year. Each payment is the position size times the rate: on a $10,000 position at 0.01%, a long pays a short $1.
The annual figure assumes the rate stays put; in fact it is reset every period, and some coins fund more often than every 8 hours. The table refreshes every 5 minutes.
