Gas tracker
Gas prices on Ethereum and layer 2s, with the cost of a transfer and a swap in dollars.

The gas tracker shows what a transaction costs right now on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, BNB Chain and Avalanche. It refreshes itself every 15 seconds; no need to reload.

- Ethereum · LowA gas price that will most likely get through but may wait a few blocks. Fine when you are not in a hurry.
- Ethereum · NormalThe usual price: the transaction lands in the next blocks. The table's dollar costs use this level.
- Ethereum · HighFor urgent transactions, e.g. when you need to beat a price move.
- Gas priceThe current gas price on each network, in gwei. 1 gwei = 0.000000001 of the network's coin (ETH, POL, BNB, AVAX).
- TransferWhat a plain transfer of the network's coin from one wallet to another costs in dollars.
- SwapWhat a typical token swap on a decentralized exchange costs in dollars.
How the Ethereum levels are calculated
The tracker reads the fee history of the last 20 blocks. The next block's base fee is the same for everyone; the tip (priority fee) varies. Low matches the tips paid by the thriftiest 10% of transactions, Normal the median (50%), High the 90th percentile.
level = next block's base fee + average tip over 20 blocks (10th percentile for Low, 50th for Normal, 90th for High)
Other networks use the gas price the network itself reports.
How the dollar cost is calculated
cost, $ = gas price (gwei) × gas used × network coin price ($) ÷ 1,000,000,000 transfer = 21,000 gas swap ≈ 150,000 gas
Example: 2 gwei × 21,000 × $2,300 ÷ 10⁹ ≈ $0.097 for an ETH transfer.
A complex swap route, an NFT mint or other contract calls can use more gas. Your wallet shows the exact estimate before you send.
