BlackRock Expands Tokenized Fund to Ethereum
BlackRock has expanded its tokenized money market fund to Ethereum, marking another step in the institutional adoption of blockchain technology.
- The fund's shares can now be issued and transferred natively on Ethereum mainnet.
- Tokenized treasury products have grown past $8B in combined assets this year.
- Settlement moves from T+1 to near-instant for eligible institutional holders.
The expansion
The asset manager's tokenized money market fund, previously available on a limited set of networks, can now be issued on Ethereum mainnet. Eligible investors can subscribe and redeem directly on-chain, with ownership recorded as tokens held in whitelisted wallets.
The fund invests in cash, U.S. Treasury bills and repurchase agreements, and pays daily dividends in the form of newly minted tokens.
Part of a wider RWA boom
Real-world asset tokenization has become one of the fastest-growing corners of the industry. Tokenized treasury products alone have more than doubled in size this year, driven by crypto-native treasuries seeking yield without leaving the chain.
“Every major asset manager now has a tokenization team. The question is no longer if, but which chain.”

What changes for investors
For institutions, the main benefit is settlement speed and composability: fund shares can serve as collateral in permissioned DeFi venues and move between counterparties around the clock.
