1. Loss risk

Digital assets are volatile and customers may lose some or all value. Custody does not remove market risk or guarantee redemption.

2. Custody and insolvency

Custodian insolvency, commingling, inadequate records, legal characterization, third-party failure or court orders may delay or prevent recovery. The treatment of customer assets varies by jurisdiction.

3. Cyber and key risk

Private-key compromise, insider abuse, phishing, malware, smart-contract exploits, operational mistakes, cloud outages and supply-chain attacks can cause irreversible losses.

4. Blockchain risk

Transactions may be irreversible. Forks, congestion, validator failure, chain reorganizations, protocol changes, bridge exploits and network outages may affect assets and withdrawals.

5. Third-party and concentration risk

Custody providers, exchanges, banks, stablecoin issuers, blockchain analytics and infrastructure providers may fail, freeze services or become unavailable.

6. Regulatory and sanctions risk

Authorities may restrict assets, addresses, services or transfers. Compliance checks can delay or block transactions where legally required.

7. No deposit protection

Unless expressly confirmed by a legally valid scheme, digital assets are not covered by bank deposit insurance or investor compensation.

8. Customer precautions

Use strong authentication, protect devices and recovery credentials, verify addresses and networks, and do not send assets based on unsolicited instructions.
